Restaurant Review: Las Tres Chicas

That is a customer fleeing before his wife catches him there.

Las Tres Chicas means the three girls and that is a bit of an understatement at this road side Salvadoran restaurant in Manassas, VA. Now I love Salvadoran food, more than Mexican food and I have been here a few times. The food is excellent, the pupusas are always hot and fresh and greasy, the beer is always cold and they have a full selection of organ meats.

What is really curious, besides the mismatched tables and chairs and home built quality to the bar, is that there are no female customers, ever. Completely zero. The customers are all single young Latino males. There is a jukebox playing way too loud Mexican polka music over bad speakers that keep screeching. That makes conversation hard but I don’t think that is why people come here.

The Tres Chicas are actually more like a half a dozen chicas all a bit (or more) on the plump side and dressed very provocatively in skin tight and very short dresses. These are the “waitresses” and when they are not serving drinks or food they are dancing with the customers. I have no idea what else they may be selling out of the back of the place but it is not staying in business with pupusas alone.

If you ae looking for a good Salvadoran restaurant with a bit more family friendly atmosphere try Dos Amigos which is about 9 miles north on the same road in Chantilly, VA. Great food and service and no weirdness or overly load polka music. My wife refuses to go to Tres Chicas anymore.
